Department of Education prepares for the 2023-24 award year
March 23, 2023
To prepare for the 2023-24 award year, the Department of Education is planning a brief outage of the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System in early April.
In a March 17 Electronic Announcement, the Department said it will suspend COD batch processing from 1 a.m. to 11 a.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, April 2. During the outage, users will not be able to submit or retrieve data or access the COD Reports on the COD website.
During the outage, the Department plans to implement COD System functionality that supports the Campus-Based programs and the processing of Federal Pell Grant, Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant, Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan awards for the 2023–24 award year.
The announcement includes a couple of attachments:
- Reminders and 2023–24 Funding Authorization and Disbursement Information, which provides reminders for the 2023–24 award year and 2023–24 funding authorization and disbursement information.
- COD System Changes for 2023–24, which highlights the system changes the Department will implement on April 2, 2023.
