It may be the quiet before the storm. The 2022-23 FAFSA verification season may still be keeping you busy, but – in what may be good news for you – is that you’ll have much of the same in 2023-24. In a July 8 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), the Department outlined the verification items selected by the Department, as well as acceptable documentation for those items, and noted that the everything will stay the same for the upcoming academic year. However, the Department also said they are currently working on guidance and updates that may come with significant changes in the FUTURE Act and FAFSA Simplification Act. So, while things are calm right now, the extended outlook is, well, somewhat unsettled. | ||||||||||||||||
