New resources and features on StudentAid.gov

As students finish up their studies for their academic year, it's a good time to think about the future.
Students, who are planning to attend higher education or getting ready for life after college, can take advantage of some new resources available at StudentAid.gov.
In a May 19 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education said it made additional updates to features designed to improve the information and self-service tools available to students and families. The updates include:
- Aidan® Virtual Assistant – Aidan is a virtual assistant, which was previously available only to students who were logged into StudentAid.gov website, is now available to anyone that visits StudentAid.gov. The virtual assistant can answer common questions about federal student aid by using advanced technology to evaluate customers' requests and guide them to the correct information and resources.
- myStudentAid Mobile App Updates – Users can now complete a Master Promissory Note or the Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment directly in the app, rather than being linked to a mobile browser. The Aidan Virtual Assistant has also been added to the mobile app.
- Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment Updates – The Annual Student Loan Acknowledgment has been updated to allow for a more personalized experience and breaks out the content to make it easier to understand.
- Loan Simulator Updates – Loan Simulator has been updated to include CARES Act flexibilities, including the pause of loan payments and the temporary 0% interest rate.
The Department has said that additional tools and features will be introduced to improve understanding of and interactions with the Title IV aid programs.
