The Department of Education today provided an update on research and reprocessing of 2024-25 FAFSAs, impacted by errors with the new form.

Specifically, the announcement provides information about the reprocessing of records with blank SAI and missing verification tracking flags and the reprocessing of records with an updated earned income credit (EIC) value.

In the June 6 Electronic Announcement, the Department of Education said it has “now transmitted the ISIRs from approximately 10.8 million FAFSA forms to schools, states, and designated scholarship organizations,” adding that “over 1.8 million corrections have been successfully processed, addressing the most common issues with FAFSA submission.”

The Department said that applicants' ISIRs are now being sent to school and states within 1 to 3 days of submission.

The Department said it continues to email applicants and their contributors who still need to make a correction to the form or have started but not completed their form.
