Financial aid professionals have faced many challenges during the pandemic - one of those being calculating R2T4 under the CARES Act.

In a Dear Colleague Letter released last week, the Department announced the availability of an online training video to help with the R2T4 calculation. The video provides information on how to use the COD R2T4 calculator to support the reporting requirements for withdrawn students who qualify for a Return of Title IV Funds waiver under the CARES Act.

According to the November 19 DCL, the training covers recent changes to the calculator, available on the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) website, that allows schools to perform an R2T4 calculation specifically for aid recipients who withdrew due to COVID-19-related circumstances.

The "CARES Act R2T4 School Training Video" is available on the Federal Student Aid E-Training website, located at https://fsatraining.ed.gov/.
