Today is the first day of March, and we have a lot to look forward to – St. Patrick's Day, the first day of spring, warmer weather, and reviewing draft cohort default rates. For some of us in financial aid, the period for reviewing the draft rates has become a spring ritual. The Department of Education yesterday announced the distribution of the FY2014 3-Year Draft Cohort Default Rate (CDR) notification packages to all eligible domestic and foreign schools only. The 45-day time period for appealing the FY2014 3-Year Draft Cohort Default Rates begins on Tuesday, March 7 for all schools. For additional information regarding the school cohort default rate calculation or the challenge processes, please refer to the Cohort Default Rate Guide at ifap.ed.gov/DefaultManagement/finalcdrg.html. For more information on how to enhance your default prevention efforts, visit Mapping Your Future or contact Beth Ziehmer at (800) 374-4072 or feedback@mappingyourfuture.org.
